Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:
- State and understand the various legislations and provisions in Health and Social Care that are in place to protect the needs of people living with Dementia
- Define Dementia, identify its risk factors, causes, types, stages, signs and symptoms and diagnostic tools
- Differentiate the different stages, its common problems and their corresponding nursing care and management
- Identify the various activities suitable to meet the individual’s needs and the stage the individual is being staged with
- Share experiences and best practices

Target Audience: Nurses (working in Dementia care and Acute Dementia Units), Managers in Social Care, Team Leaders and/or Senior Carers, Healthcare Assistants, Social Caregivers, Activities Leads/Coordinators and Support Services within care home settings, Carers of a person living with Dementia in their own home, Community services staff ie. Therapists, hairdressers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists who provide care and services who offer services in care home settings.
Lunch will not be provided only Tea and coffee will be provided in the morning and during breaks.
